Perimenopause Care

Tailored to you

The perimenopausal period can feel immensely daunting at times. Women make up over half the world’s population, and yet somehow, our needs still feel overlooked.

The perimenopausal and menopausal periods have become increasingly dominant in the media, with some celebrities sharing their journeys. It’s great that more people are talking about perimenopause and the kinds of support that are available, but the medical world still seems to be playing catch-up.

From headaches and fatigue, to weight gain and dizziness, the list of symptoms is vast. Anxiety is one of the most common reasons women seek help – and it’s often dismissed. It’s well documented that fluctuating hormones increases mood disorders in women and yet, physicians often overlook them as a potential first sign of the perimenopause, opting to start women on antidepressants rather than investigating (and treating) hormonal causes.

Perimenopause symptoms

If you’re looking at this graphic, nodding your head and mentally ticking off symptoms, you’re not alone – and you might not have realised they were a ‘thing’ until now.

You’re not alone; it’s hard to see the bigger picture especially when symptoms are widespread, with a gradual onset and at times insidious in nature.

Supporting your hormones with HRT is only one step in the perimenopausal journey. This stage is a chance to make conscious choices that carry you through the transition and into a happy, healthy second half of life.

Discovering a reflexology course designed to support women during the perimenopause and beyond, was a turning point for me. I began to understand more that, as a woman, we need to be aware of our hormone health throughout life so that we can enter this phase of life prepared. In fact, it was this course that led me to my new logo – I want you to feel grounded, a part of the world around you and that you always feel you have something to give.

What to expect

Introductions

We begin with introductions and a relaxed chat – I’ll share a little about me and my background to help put you at ease and create a safe, supportive space for your session.

Full consultation

Medical & surgical history

We’ll review your medical and surgical history, as well as any medications or supplements you’re taking. This helps ensure that all treatments are safe and appropriate.

Symptoms

Perimenopause can bring a wide range of symptoms – some of which you may not have connected to hormonal changes.

I may ask you to focus on a couple of symptoms that are having the biggest impact on your daily life. Giving these a score based on this impact helps track the effectiveness of your treatments over time.

Lifestyle, support & self care

This helps me understand the many demands on your time and energy, the support you have around you, and the self-care strategies you’re already using.

This gives me a clearer picture of where I can help you make gentle, sustainable changes that support your wellbeing during perimenopause and beyond.

Treatment

I use a menopause-specific treatment plan that targets your central nervous system, as well as female hormone pathways. Your treatment is tailored to your needs and designed to bring calm, balance, and relief.

I’ll use a combination of treatments to help ease some of the symptoms you’re experiencing. Together, we’ll look at foundation stones to help support you and make small achievable changes that will help you navigate this important time in your life.

After the treatment

At the end of the treatment, I allow you time to come round gently, and we’ll check in while you enjoy a glass of water. I’ll usually follow up the next day to see how you’re feeling and offer any reassurance needed.

Follow-up treatments

Every follow-up session begins with a check-in. We’ll talk about any changes to lifestyle or symptoms since your last treatment. You’ll then receive another tailored treatment.

As things begin to feel more balanced, we might incorporate other therapies that could support your overall wellbeing. We’ll also review any lifestyle changes you’re working on – this is always included as part of your regular treatment session.

Treatment frequency

The frequency of sessions depends on your individual circumstances and the severity of your symptoms. There’s no set schedule – you’re always in control.

However, if symptoms are severely impacting you, I may recommend having a few treatments closer together at first to help get things back on track.

There’s no need to book a full course in advance, and every 6th treatment is free.

Rachel has been amazing…I felt she really listened and responded to my main concerns and was able to reduce my symptoms significantly.

The treatments themselves have helped so much with the various symptoms I was experiencing.
